Rockin' Gene Bakken is a man wrapped in a boy-child as played by Steve Bakken. You could say that RGB was shanghaied into the fake denim revolution where he is kept in a windowless room and let out only at night to share his virtuosity with nightclub denizens and the occasional theatergoer. He came for a week and has stayed fake for a year (sorry Grand Forks!). When you listen to the new album, anytime you hear a guitar that makes you envy native talent, that is Rockin' Gene Bakken.
